11 61 730 BMW leak test for intake system (N54): Notes

IMPORTANT:
Pressure and vacuum lines can be recognized by the size of their fasteners and are colour-coded blue and red respectively.
Designation:
- Pressure line blue
- Vacuum line red
Pressure and vacuum lines must not be mixed up.
Mixing up the lines will result in engine damage.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove upper section of intake filter housing . See 13 71 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING INTAKE FILTER HOUSING (N54) .
- Prepare BMW diagnosis system
- Start diagnosis program
- Drive
- Engine electronics
- Air supply
- Boost pressure control system or perception of lack of power
