52 16... Repairing seat cover for front seat (sport/electrical)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Following parts are needed for repair of a front seat:

Damage can be seen from loose side section. Mountings (1) on seat cover (2) are torn out.

NOTE: Both mountings must always be repaired. Following work operations apply for both mountings on seat cover.

Fold up seat cover (1). Align securing eye (4) of reinforcement (2) to torn out securing eye of seat cover (1). Mark attachment points (3) of reinforcement (2) on seat cover (1).

Pierce seat cover (1) at marks (2) for securing with a rivet.

IMPORTANT: Do not damage seat cover.

Insert rivet (3) through seat cover. Rivet reinforcement (1) with washers (2) through reassembled holes in the seat cover.

IMPORTANT: Make sure reinforcement (1) is correctly aligned. Plastic (1) of reinforcement must be secured downward.

IMPORTANT: Rivet shanks (1) must be completely torn off.

Mask front of rivet connections (1) with felt tape. Mark front and rear sides of rivet connections (2) with felt tape. Attach repaired mountings of seat cover in seat frame.
