51 11 050 Removing and installing/replacing support for front bumper trim: Notes

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Partially detaching brake air duct (depending on engine version): 

Release expansion rivet (1).

Release screw (2).

Release catch (3).

Disconnect plug connection (1) on fanfare horn on left/right

If necessary, release hose holder (2) for headlight washer system.

Version with Park Distance Control (PDC): 

Release plug connection on right inner side of member by turning through 45°.

Release screws (1 and 2) on left/right.

IMPORTANT: Before releasing screws (3), make sure support member (4) is supported by a 2nd person helping.

Release screws (3) on left and right and feed out support member (4) in downward direction.

Tightening torque 51 11 2AZ  , see 51 11 FRONT BUMPER .

Release nuts (1 and 2) on strut (3) on left/right.

Installation: 

When installing support (4), make sure struts (3) on left and right are correctly fed in.

Tightening torque 51 11 5AZ  , see 51 11 FRONT BUMPER .
