61 31 172 Removing and installing/replacing switch for electromechanical parking brake

Attention with E70/E71! 

Prior to replacement  of parking brake, perform test module in diagnosis system:

• PL4
• 02 Chassis and suspension
• Parking brake
• Parking brake wiring harness
• B3440_L4EMFLEIKabelbaum Parking brake wiring harness

Necessary preliminary work 

• DISCONNECT NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE  (to avoid fault memory entries).
• Remove COVER FOR GEAR SELECTOR SWITCH .

Release screws (1) and remove switch for electromechanical parking brake (2) from cover for gear selector switch (3).
