61 11 E70M Retrofitting wiring harness for side marker lights

Necessary preliminary work:

REMOVE FOOTWELL MODULE. 

Remove cowl panel cover  . See 51 13 116 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING COWL PANEL COVER or 51 13 116 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING COWL PANEL COVER

REMOVE FRONT LEFT AND RIGHT WHEEL ARCH COVERS .

NOTE:
  • Route wiring harness for driver's side (solid line) from footwell module (FRM) through engine compartment and wheel arch to left headlight.
  • Route wiring harness for front passenger side (broken line) from footwell module (FRM) below cowl panel cover through engine compartment and wheel arch to right headlight.

Headlight/connector Wire color Pin (headlight) Pin (FRM) Connector/FRM socket housing color
left / X13420 black/green 7 50 X14261 / grey

Pierce rubber grommet at position (2) in driver's footwell and work wiring harness (1) through into passenger compartment from outside  using a suitable tool (e.g. length of welding wire).

IMPORTANT: To prevent moisture from entering the passenger compartment, seal opening (2) on the outside, using suitable means!

Route wiring harness for front passenger side (2) outside hinge (1). Route wiring harness for driver's side (3) in engine compartment.

Route wiring harness for front passenger side (1) between windscreen (2) and body (3) and secure with butyl rope at points indicated by arrows.

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage! 
Secure wiring harnesses at suitably spaced points!
Route wiring harnesses safely to prevent pinching, chafing and damage!
