12 42 500 Replacing the positive battery cable between the starter motor, alternator and positive battery connection point (N54, N55)

Necessary preliminary work:

Open cover.

Release nut, remove positive battery cable (1) from positive battery connection point.

Tightening torque: 12 42 3AZ .

Release nut and remove positive battery cable (1) from alternator.

Tightening torque: 12 42 1AZ .

Unclip positive battery cable (1) from holder (2).

Unfasten nut.

Tightening torque: 12 42 2AZ .

Detach positive battery cable (2) from starter motor and remove.

NOTE: Reassemble the vehicle.
Check stored fault messages.
Delete fault memory.
