51 16 212 Removing and installing/replacing finisher for storage tray

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage!
When working on trim panel components, make sure that the sensitive surfaces are not scratched or damaged.

NOTE: Illustration similar.

Press installation frame of gaiter (1) together a little and remove gaiter from center console.

IMPORTANT: Start removing at front left, otherwise the frame may be damaged.

To release retainer clamp (1) pull up.

Slightly raise trim (2) rotate frame of gaiter through gearshift opening.

Remove trim (2).

If optional equipment is fitted:

Disconnect plug connection at front controller.

Installation:

Replace defective retaining clips (1).

Replacement

Modify retainer clamps (1).

Release screws (2) on storage compartment.

Re-install storage compartment.
