54 37... Gauge consoles for roof module
Special tools required:
The consoles are to be gauged only after body repair.
In the warranty period the country-specific Hotline must be consulted before opening the sealing of the screw connection.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Align BASIC GAUGE
To prevent damage to the roof module gauge, set the roof module gauge only in the transportation crate or on consoles.
The roof module gauge is an extremely sensitive measuring instrument that is even affected by very low impact.
The roof module gauge must be checked for dimensional accuracy on a master gauge after being subjected to impact or camber.
Gauge, console, roof module
Mount set of special tools 54 0 140 .
Connect left gauge 54 0 141 to right gauge 54 0 142 with cross strut 54 0 143 .
Connect consoles (1) for roof module to special tool 54 0 140 .
Gauge, left: 54 0 141
Gauge, right: 54 0 142
Turn back barrel screws (2) and check for ease of movement at the same time.
Tighten screws with 2 Nm.
Carefully place roof module console gauge on base gauge and screw in with special tool 00 9 251 .
Observe tightening sequence:
- Affix screws to 2 Nm on front of base gauge.
- Affix screws to 2 Nm on rear of base gauge.
Screw roof module console gauge onto base gauge diagonally in the specified order (1 to 4) using torque wrench.
Tightening torque: 6 Nm

Perform following procedures only with special tool 54 0 180 combined with 00 9 450 .
Tighten barrel screws with 0.05 Nm (= 5 cNm).
Observe tightening sequence:
- Barrel screw, rear left
- Barrel screw, rear right
- Barrel screw, front left
- Barrel screw, front right
Screw in console with washers.
Tightening torque: 54 37 03AZ .
Release screw connection (1) between gauge and console.
Release screw connection from gauge console of roof module to basic gauge.
Remove gauge console for roof module.
