17 11 100 Removing and installing/replacing coolant expansion tank (N20, N26)

NOTE: Follow instructions for REPAIR WORK ON THE COOLING SYSTEM .

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING .
Disconnect coolant hoses from expansion tank for coolant.

Unlock and detach top coolant hose from expansion tank.

Unlock locks (1) in direction of arrow. Pull off expansion tank together with bracket upwards from carrier support until coolant hose below expansion tank is accessible.

Unlock and detach coolant hose (1).

Unlock and disconnect plug on coolant level switch (2).

Lift out expansion tank.

Installation note:

Push coolant hose (1) back onto the expansion tank. The quick-release coupling of the coolant hose must engage audibly on the expansion tank. Check that the coolant hose (1) is correctly seated, carry out retraction test.

Top up coolant.

Check expansion tank for leaks.
