63 31 176 Removing and installing/replacing center armrest storage compartment LED

When working on trim panel components, make sure that visible surfaces are not scratched or damaged (e.g. by sharp-edged tools).

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove INSERT IN center ARMREST STORAGE COMPARTMENT
Remove rear center console trim . See 51 16 142 REMOVING AND INSTALLING (REPLACING) INSERT IN center ARMREST STORAGE COMPARTMENT or 51 16 163 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING REAR center CONSOLE COVER

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Feed cable (2) out of center console.

Press LED module cover (3) in direction of arrow out of center console.

Feed out LED module cover (3) with cable (2) from center console.

Installation note:

Make sure cable (2) is correctly laid in center console.

Make sure LED module cover (3) is correctly seated in center console.

Replacement:

Disengage and remove LED module (1) from cover (2) in direction of arrow.

Installation note:

Retaining lugs (3) and guides (4) on cover (2) must not be damaged or missing.

Ensure correct seat of LED module (1) on the cover (2).
