54 10... Removing and refitting/replacing mechanism for floating headliner (panoramic sunroof removed)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove PANORAMA GLASS ROOF

IMPORTANT: Drive carriage of drive cable (1) can possibly unhook in most rear (closed) position (turn towards the top)!
Before closing manually, press down drive carriage of drive cable (1) if required, and guide it into guide rail (2).

Release screw (1).

Remove wire spring clip (2).

Move the floating headlining (1) towards the rear all the way to the recess and remove towards the top.

Installation note:

Mechanism of the rear floating headlining (2) must be correctly attached in the front mechanism.

Move front floating headlining (1) to the recess and remove towards the top.

Installation note:

The notch faces opposite to the direction of travel.

Installation note:

Ensure the front mechanism is fitted correctly on the drive element.

Remove mechanism of front floating headlining:

Release left and right screws (1).

Remove left and right mechanism (2).

Remove mechanism of rear floating headlining:

Release screw (1).

Remove mechanism (2).

Install mechanism of front and rear floating headlinings:

Loosely screw in all screws of mechanism for front and rear floating headlinings. Floating headlinings must still be freely moveable!
Install front and rear floating headlinings in panorama glass roof.
Move floating headlining mechanically. Completely open and then close floating headlining (stacked position). Floating headlining sets itself up in mechanism by this!
Loosely tighten all screws of mechanism for front and rear floating headlinings.
Tightening torque 54 12 04AZ .
