61 31 037 Removing and installing/replacing light control unit

NOTE: When working on trim panel components, make sure that the sensitive surfaces are not scratched or damaged.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove DECORATIVE STRIP ON DASHBOARD ON LEFT

NOTE: Work shown on the F30 by way of example, deviations in detail are possible in other models.

Reach behind the opening.

Unlock retaining clips (1) by pushing down.

Fold cover with light control unit (2) out of instrument panel.

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Remove cover with light control unit (2).

Replacement:

Remove light control unit (1) from latch mechanism (2) and remove from trim (5).

Installation note:

Ensure the light control unit (1) is latched correctly in the trim (5).

Guides (3) and clamps (4) on cover (5) must not be damaged or missing.
