41 14 502 Replacing Rear Left Outer Wheel Arch Section With Reinforcement (Rear Side Panel Removed)

Follow procedures for REPAIR STAGE 3 .

Read contents of BODY, GENERAL .

Spot-weld bonding is used on this vehicle. Observe specific PROCEDURE .

Use only approved SPOT-WELDING APPARATUS  for repairs.

The following new body parts are required:

• (1) Support, C-pillar
• (2) Wheel arch cover, rear
• (3) Shaped part, wheel arch, outer (not shown)
• (4) Shaped part, C-pillar, outer (not shown)

Removal of the outer wheel arch section with reinforcement 

Mark severance cut (1) next to cavity sealing (2) and sever.

Undo welded connections in these areas (3) and remove the C-pillar support.

Installation note: 

Establish the inner CAVITY SEALING  (2) using cavity foam.

Mount the outer cavity sealing (2) with sealant.

Open welded connections in areas (1).

Open welded connections in areas (1).

OPEN  spot-welded adhesive joints in area (2).

Remove outer section of wheel arch.

New part preparation 

Mark severance cut on support for C-pillar as per severance cut on vehicle and cut.

Prepare REINFORCEMENT PLATE  at severance cut for support on C-pillar.

Remove adhesive residues in the area (1).

Adjust new parts in conjunction with side panel to fit.

Installation of the outer wheel arch section with reinforcement 

Apply sealant to new CAVITY SEALINGS .

Establish the inner cavity sealing of the C-pillar with cavity foam.

Install and weld new parts.
