51 64 020 Removing and installing/replacing top rear connection (12-cyl. models): Notes

Only perform work after engine has cooled down.

IMPORTANT: Driving without the connection is not permitted. (risk of damage to the body).

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove SIDE ENGINE COMPARTMENT LID SEAL MOUNTING in work area

NOTE: Graphic shows the left side only. Apply mirror image of graphic to the right side.

Release screws for air duct (1) on left and right.

Tightening torque 13 71 7AZ .

Release screws on connection at rear (2) left and right.

Tightening torque 51 61 3AZ .

Release rear screws for engine compartment lid catch (3) on left and right.

Tightening torque 51 61 5AZ .

Release screw (1).

Release screw connection for supports (2).

Tightening torque 51 61 6AZ .

Raise front/rear connection (1) and disengage Bowden cable (2) in marked area.

Remove front/rear connection (1).
