64 12 673 Replacing left or right electric auxiliary heater - rear cabin

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

For purposes of clarity, pictures show driver's seat removed.

Unclip cover (1) in direction of arrow.

Release plastic nut (1).

Partially feed out rear cabin air duct (2) in direction of arrow.

Installation note: 

Ensure that air duct (2) is correctly seated.

Unlock and disconnect plug connections (1) on electric auxiliary heater (2).

Unlock and disconnect plug connection (3) on temperature sensor.

Pull out air duct (4) completely.

Replacement: 

Remove TEMPERATURE SENSOR FOR ELECTRIC AUXILIARY HEATER .

IMPORTANT: On vehicles with production date up to 05/2010 it is essential in the case of spare parts to observe the part number of the auxiliary heater!

The following BMW part numbers may no longer be installed in vehicles with production dates from  05/2010!

These part numbers may not  be combined with other part numbers!

In this case, both  auxiliary heaters must be replaced!
