64 12 577 Replacing changeover valve for independent/auxiliary heating: Notes

Only perform the following repair work on an engine that has cooled down.
Follow notes for repair work on cooling system. See VENTING/FILLING WITH VACUUM FILLING UNIT and BLEEDING COOLING SYSTEM AND CHECKING FOR WATERTIGHTNESS .

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage!
Observe marked coolant flow direction.
NOTE: Mark position of coolant hoses prior to dismantling.

Release spring clamps (1) and detach coolant hoses.

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Unfasten screws (2).

Remove changeover valve for independent/auxiliary heating (3).
