34 32 881 Replacing front left or right brake hose

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

After completing repair work: BLEED BRAKING SYSTEM 

Press brake pedal down to floor and secure with pedal support.

NOTE: The pedal support may only be released when the brake lines are reconnected.

This prevents brake fluid from emerging from the expansion tank and air from entering the system when the brake lines are opened.

Detach brake hose (1) from brake caliper.

If necessary, grip at knurling (2).

Installation note: 

Tightening torque 34 32 2AZ .

Release retaining screw (1). If necessary, grip at square head.

Installation note: 

Position guides (3) correctly in holder (4).

Tightening torque 34 32 1AZ .

Release brake hose from holders (1).

IMPORTANT: Observe installation sequence:
  1. Fasten brake hose in brackets (1).
  2. Move wheels into straight-ahead position.
  3. Fasten brake hose at pipe/brake hose connection.
  4. Fasten brake hose at brake caliper.

Never twist brake hose when installing it and avoid all contact with parts attached rigidly to the body.
