To set the correct level, it is mandatory that the service function "Transmission control unit: oil adjustment" is performed using the diagnosis system.

Conditions for oil level adjustment with BMW diagnosis system:
- Initial condition: Transmission oil temperature 30° to 50° C
- Final condition: Transmission oil temperature 30° to 50° C
Performing oil-level adjustment:
An oil-level adjustment is necessary in certain fault code entries in the automatic transmission and after repair (e. g. mechatronic replacement, converter replacement, transmission replacement).
