33 33 111 Replacing all rubber mounts for rear axle support: Notes

WARNING: Danger of injury!

Failure to comply with the following instructions may result in the vehicle slipping off the lifting platform and critically injuring other persons.

Before lowering/removing the rear axle support, it is essential to place a minimum load of 100 kg in the luggage compartment to prevent the vehicle from toppling/slipping off the vehicle hoist!

When supporting components, make sure that:

IMPORTANT: Before lowering/removing rear axle support:

Observe SAFETY INFORMATIONS for raising the vehicle

In order to avoid damage to vehicle hoist, perform weight compensation on vehicle.

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Risk of damage! 

It is mandatory to observe the correct press-out and press-in directions. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in damage to the rear axle support!

To ensure that rear axle rubber mounts are securely seated in rear axle support, observe a waiting period of 2 hours after pressing in rubber mounts.

IMPORTANT: For F01/F02 vehicles with N74 engine only:

Install damping inserts in both front rubber mounts. 

Install damping inserts (1) in the rear gap, opposite the direction arrow (2).

Spread apart rubber mount with special tool 00 9 317 and insert Damping inlay (1) to limit position!

NOTE:
  • Removal and installation are described on the front rubber mount.
NOTE: Edges (2) break off when rubber mount (1) is pulled out in the direction of arrow.

Assemble special tool 33 4 140 in conjunction with 33 0 011 and 33 0 012 .

Pull out rubber mounts using special tools 33 0 000 , 33 4 140 , 2 208 577, 2 155 744 and 2 208 574 pull out of the rear axle support.

NOTE: Align special tool 33 0 000 form-fit to the rubber mount.

Make sure special tool 33 4 140 is correctly supported on rear axle support bush.

Applicable to front rubber mount:

IMPORTANT: Arrow (1) must point on rubber mount (2) in direction of travel.

Applicable to rear rubber mount: 

(View of rear axle support from below)

IMPORTANT: Notch (1) and arrow (2) on rubber mount (3) must point in direction of travel.

Coat rubber mount (1) with Circo Light.

Pull in the rubber mounts (1) using special tools 33 0 000 , 33 4 140 , 2 208 577, 2 208 574 and 2 155 744 to the limit position of the rear axle support.
