33 34 070 Removing and installing/renewing integral active steering: Notes

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

IMPORTANT: Screws (1) must not be released during removal!

Unlock and disconnect plug connections (1) from steering.

Release screw (2) and remove grounding cable.

Tightening torque 33 34 4AZ .

Release screw (1).

Tightening torque 33 34 2AZ .

Undo collar bolts (2).

Tightening torque 33 34 1AZ .

Installation note: 

Observe assembly sequence shown in Fig 5 to prevent integral active steering from jamming during installation.

Release bolts (1) and remove Integral Active Steering towards bottom.

Tightening torque 33 34 3AZ .

Installation note: 

Observe assembly sequence shown in Fig 5 to prevent integral active steering from jamming during installation.

IMPORTANT: Observe assembly sequence.

Fasten screws and nuts on the Integral Active Steering at the rear axle support, see graphic.
