18 31 130 Removing and refitting/replacing metering unit (N47 D20 O 1 with SCR)

Special tools required: 

IMPORTANT: Ensure adequate ventilation in the workbay!
Avoid skin contact (wear gloves)!
Avoid eye contact (safety goggles)!
Urea/water mixture can escape when components carrying urea/water mixture are released. Have a collecting vessel ready.
Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.
IMPORTANT: Maintain conditions of absolute cleanliness.
Connections and covers of lines carrying urea/water mixture must be cleaned thoroughly with water after each removal or before each installation!
Thoroughly clean the working area with water after repair work.
Use fluff-free cloths for cleaning.
Seal off connections and lines with special tool 16 1 130!
Thoroughly clean special tool with water after each use.

Release screws (1).

Remove underbody panelling (2).

Unfasten coolant hoses (1) from metering unit using UNCRIMPING TOOLS .

Release pipe clips and pull coolant hoses (1) off metering module.

Replace clamps.

Disconnect metering pipe (2) from metering unit (4).

Release pipe clip (3) and detach metering unit (4).

Tightening torque 18 31 7AZ .

Unfasten plug connection.

Remove metering unit.

After completing repair work:

Carry out SCR adjustment using BMW Diagnosis and Information System.
