16 19 020 Removing and installing/replacing active tank
Avoid skin contact (wear gloves)!
Avoid eye contact (safety goggles)!
When releasing parts resulting from AdBlue, AdBlue may come out. Have a collecting vessel ready.
Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.
Clean connections and covers of lines carrying AdBlue thoroughly with water after each disassembly or before each installation.
Thoroughly clean the working area with water after repair work.
Use fluff-free cloths for cleaning.
Close connections and lines!
Thoroughly clean special tool with water after each use.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Drawing off AdBlue
- Remove rear right WHEEL ARCH PANEL .
- Remove right TANK COVER .
- Remove compression strut on the right.
Disconnect plug connection (1).
Unclip connector (2) from bracket.
Unclip wiring harness (3) from bracket.
Disconnect plug connection (1).
Press release button (2), and press feed line (3) gently in the delivery unit direction.
Pull off feed line after complete unlocking.
Installation note:
Check for correct latch mechanism of the snap fastener (1) by pulling.
Unlock and disconnect snap fastener (1).
Unclip tank ventilation line from brackets (2) and pass tank ventilation line through opening (3) when removing the active tank.
Release hose clamp (1) and pull off filling hose (2) from active tank.
Installation note:
Replace hose clamp (1).
Unclip heat shield (2) from tank retaining strap.
Release nut (3) and screws (4) and remove active tank (5) downward.
