26 11 051 Replacing flexible disc for front propeller shaft

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Partially remove PROPELLER SHAFT . See 26 11 000 REMOVING AND REFITTING COMPLETE PROPELLER SHAFT (PUSH-FIT - FLEXIBLE JOINT AT REAR) (WITH VIBRATION ABSORBER) .
- Disconnect propeller shaft at transmission.
- Release center mount.
- Tie up the propeller shaft to the vehicle underbody.NOTE: Bending the propeller shaft by an excessive angle can cause premature damage to the joint/propeller shaft!
Release nuts and remove flexible disc (1) from propeller shaft.
IMPORTANT:
Replace ZNS bolts and self-locking nuts.
Tightening torque and angle of rotation 26 11 2AZ .
NOTE:
Instead of conventional rubber flexible disks, F series also use aluminum flexible discs, which are also called EGG (constant velocity joints).
Installation note:
Check centering mount.
Replace damaged CENTERING MOUNT .
Grease centering mount. See PROPELLER SHAFT - OPERATING FLUIDS .
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove propeller shaft . See 26 11 000 COMPLETELY REMOVING AND INSTALLING PROPELLER SHAFT (INSERTED - REAR FLEXIBLE DISC) (WITHOUT VIBRATION ABSORBER) or 26 11 000 REMOVING AND REFITTING COMPLETE PROPELLER SHAFT (PUSH-FIT - FLEXIBLE JOINT AT REAR) (WITH VIBRATION ABSORBER) at transmission and center bearing.
- Remove complete propeller shaft (F06, F10, F12, F13 - S63).
NOTE:
To protect universal joints, tie back propeller shaft in area of center mount.
Release screws and remove flexible disc (1) from propeller shaft.
Tightening torque and angle of rotation 26 11 2AZ .
IMPORTANT:
Replace ZNS bolts and self-locking nuts.
NOTE:
On the F06, F10, F12, F13 - S63 a silicone flexible disc is installed instead of the conventional rubber part flexible disc.
Installation note:
- During installation arrows (2) on circumference of flexible disc must point to flange arms (3).
NOTE:

Replace damaged CENTERING MOUNT .
