51 11 156 Removing and installing/replacing front bumper trim
Necessary preliminary tasks:
Release all screws at top and bottom on bumper trim (1).
NOTE:
The wheel was removed for clarity.
Change wheel angle to suit current working position.
Release bolt (1) on wheel housing trim. Tilt wheel well trim sideways.
Release left and right bolts (2) located behind trim.
Tightening torque 51 11 11AZ .
IMPORTANT:
Bumper trim must not be pulled out sideways (risk of damage).
Remove bumper trim straight towards front with aid of a 2nd person.
If necessary, disconnect additional plug-in contacts and feed out cable.
Installation note:
Observe 41 00... BODY GAP DIMENSIONS .
IMPORTANT:
On version with "Night Vision with Dynamic Light" the headlights must be ADJUSTED
for target illumination.
Replacement (depending on version):
- Swap over NIGHT VISION .
- Swap over PARK DISTANCE CONTROL .
- Remount and adjust fog lamps. See REPLACING LEFT FOG LAMP , REPLACING RIGHT FOG LAMP , and ADJUSTING FOG LIGHTS .
- Swap over ornamental grille. See REMOVING ORNAMENTAL GRILLE FOR BUMPER TRIM (SIDE) and REMOVING TRIM GRILLE FOR BUMPER TRIM (CENTER) .
- Swap over FRONT RADIATOR GRILLE .
