63 31... Removing and installing/replacing front left or right top door trip panel fibre optic conductor

WARNING:
Fibre optic conductors are sensitive (risk of damage). Always handle carefully.
Necessary preliminary tasks
- Remove front door trim panel. See 51 41 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING (REPLACING) FRONT LEFT OR RIGHT DOOR TRIM PANEL .
- Work station with cleaner working surface
Top fibre optic conductor below decorative strip
Use special tool 64 1 020 to unclip fibre optic conductor (2) from door trim panel (1) at the fastening clips (3) with light rotating movement.
Installation:
Make sure fibre optic conductor (1) correctly locks at fastening clips (3).
- Pull LED-module (1) out of bracket (2).
- Carefully pull LED-module (1) from fibre optic conductor (2).
Installation:
LED-module (1) must lock into position (light distribution).
Feed fibre optic conductor (1) out of door trim panel (2) in direction of arrow and remove.
Installation:
Check fibre optic conductor (1) for damage (scratches or cracks), replace if necessary.
