Rear-compartment controller (FCON) with left and right operating facility (depends on equipment fitted)
The rear-compartment controller is only used with a rear seat entertainment (RSE_ in the high version (e.g. F01, F02). The rear-compartment controller is the central operating element for the vehicle functions that can be selected and configured on the rear seat entertainment. The control panel and control unit of the rear-compartment controller (FCON) have been combined to form one component. There are 7 fixed selector buttons arranged around the rear-compartment controller. These selector keys now enable selection of half of all the submenus.
A touchpad is integrated on the controller. The term touchpad (keyboard) defines a touch-sensitive surface that can be used to replace keyboards, for example. Modern touchpads determine the position of the finger on the surface of the touchpad using electrical capacity.
The left and right operating facilities are connected to the rear-compartment controller (10-pin plug connection on the back side each). The operating facilities are used to select the rear monitor to be controlled via the rear-compartment controller. A function indicator light indicates which operating facility is activated. The function indicator light is dimmed with the data bus. A rotary control on the operating facility provides volume control.

There are a variety of degrees of operating freedom for the control panel available to navigate the menu structure:

- Tilting
The rear-compartment controller is connected via the bus system with the rear monitor.
Signal path: Rear-compartment controller (FCON) > K-CAN2 > Headunit High (HU-H)
The signal for the locator lighting (terminal 58g e.g. for the buttons) is transferred on the bus.
The rear-compartment controller (FCON) is supplied with power from the front power distribution box with terminal 30B. The ground supply comes from the body.
