Connecting the terminal device to the vehicle
All of the data information that is required for BMW Connected is transferred to the vehicle via the USB. There are two options for connecting the end device to the vehicle.
Method 1: Connection via the original USB cable from the manufacturer of the end device.
The original USB cable from the manufacturer of the end device is generally contained in the delivery specification of the end device. As a result of possible quality issues, use of the original USB cable may lead to malfunctions and is thus not recommended.
Method 2: Connection via the BMW USB cable.
The BMW USB cable is accordingly robust and has high-quality workmanship, in order to meet the high quality requirements for use in BMW vehicles. We recommend that this cable be used to avoid malfunctions in the application software and sacrifices in the quality of audio reproduction.
