17 13 020 Removing And Installing/Replacing Expansion Tank For Charge Air Cooler (N63 B40/B44 O 1)
IMPORTANT:
Risk of scalding!
Only perform this repair work after engine has cooled down.
Only perform this repair work after engine has cooled down.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove ACOUSTIC COVER .
- FOLLOW instructions for repair work on the cooling system.
Release the coolant hoses and wiring (1) from the expansion tank and set aside.
Release screws (3).
Tightening torque: 17 10 7AZ .
Pinch off coolant hoses on the expansion tank with PINCH-OFF TOOLS (to prevent coolant from escaping).
Release coolant hoses (1) and (2) from expansion tank and detach.
Catch and dispose of escaping coolant.
Remove expansion tank.
Assemble engine.
Fill and bleed cooling system for charge air cooler. See 17..... BLEEDING COOLING SYSTEM FOR CHARGE AIR COOLER (N63 B40/B44 O 0/1) or 17 11... BLEED AND FILL THE COOLING SYSTEM FOR THE CHARGE AIR COOLER WITH THE VACUUM FILLING UNIT .
Check cooling system for charge air cooler for leaks.
