17 11 100 Removing and installing/replacing coolant expansion tank (N54, N52K)

Necessary preliminary tasks

Drain COOLANT .

N54 only: Release vacuum line at retainers (1) from expansion tank.

Unfasten screws (2).

Tightening torque 17 10 4AZ .

Release and disconnect coolant hoses (3).

Raise expansion tank (4)

Unlock plug (1) on coolant level switch and disconnect.

Remove expansion tank (2).

Installation:

Make sure locating pin (3) is correctly seated in rubber mount (4).

Assemble engine.

Top up COOLANT .

Check cooling system for LEAKS .
