11 53 000 Removing and installing/replacing coolant thermostat (N20)

Recycling
Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.
Catch and dispose of drained coolant in a suitable container.
IMPORTANT:
Protect plug connections against coolant and contamination.
Cover plug connections with suitable materials.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove front underbody protection .
- Remove top CLEAN AIR PIPE .
- Remove ENGINE VENTILATION LINE .
Disconnect plug connection (1).
Disconnect coolant hoses (2-4) on thermostat with clamping tongs.
Separate coolant hose (2-4) from thermostat.
Release screws (5) and remove thermostat.
Tightening torque 11 53 1AZ .
Assemble engine.
Top up coolant.
