12 14 611 Removing/replacing left knock sensors (N63)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Read out fault memory of DME control unit
• Switch off ignition
• Disconnect battery negative lead  , see 61 20 900 DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING BATTERY NEGATIVE LEAD .
• Remove left intake manifold  , see 11 61 065 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING LEFT INTAKE MANIFOLD (N63) .

Unlock and disconnect plugs (1) on both knock sensors.

Release screws on both knock sensors (2).

Tightening torque13 62 5AZ, see 13 62 SENDERS FOR CONTROL UNIT .

Remove knock sensors (3).

Installation: 

Clean support face of knock sensors on engine block.
