13 53 570 Replacing pressure regulator on pressure accumulator of fuel injection system (M57TU, M57T2)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Read out fault memory of DDE control unit; if necessary, work through test schedules
Switch off ignition
Remove intake air manifold. See 11 61 050 REMOVING AND INSTALLING INTAKE PLENUM (M57T2/SCR) .

NOTE: Cover intake ducts.

IMPORTANT: Protect alternator against escaping fuel.
Cover alternator with suitable apparatus (risk of damage) .

Recycling:

Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.

Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.

Disconnect connector (1).

NOTE: Grip at hexagon head (2) when removing pressure sensor.

Release hexagon screw connection (3) on pressure accumulator.

Installation:

Secure position of pressure regulator and grip at hexagon fitting (2).

Tighten down hexagon screw connection (3).

Installation:

Tightening torque: 13 53 13AZ .

Now clear the fault memory.

Installation:

Pressure regulator may only be used once.

Positioning before final tightening!
