13 53 560 Removing and installing/replacing pressure sensor on pressure accumulator of fuel injection system (M57TU, M57T2)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Read out fault memory of DDE control unit; if necessary, work through test schedules
Switch off ignition
Remove acoustic cover. See 13..... REMOVE THE ACOUSTIC COVERS (M57T2 WITH AND WITHOUT SCR) .

IMPORTANT: Protect alternator against fuel.
Cover alternator with suitable apparatus (risk of damage) .

Recycling:

Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.

Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.

Unlock plug (1) and remove.

NOTE: Grip at hexagon head (2) when removing pressure sensor.
Release hexagon screw connection (3) on pressure accumulator.

Installation:

Secure position of pressure sensor and grip at hexagon head (2).

Tighten down hexagon screw connection (3).

Tightening torque: 13 53 9AZ .

IMPORTANT: EU4 only.
Reset quantity mean value adaptation with BMW diagnosis system.

Now clear the fault memory.

Check system for leaks.
