11 44 000 Removing and installing, sealing or replacing oil-to-water heat exchanger (M57T2-SCR)

Necessary preliminary work:

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage:
Protect alternator with suitable auxiliary materials against engine oil.

Recycling:

Catch and dispose of drained coolant.

Catch and dispose of escaping engine oil.

Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.

Release screws (1).

Remove oil-to-water heat exchanger (2) from oil filter housing (3).

Installation note:

Clean sealing surfaces.

Replace all profile seals.

IMPORTANT: It is absolutely essential to carry out an ENGINE OIL SERVICE to prevent coolant from mixing with the engine oil.

Assemble engine.
