51 11 156 Remove and install front bumper panel (from 03/2010)

IMPORTANT: Risk of mixing up
Different screws fitted.

Release screws (1).

Loosen screws (1) on the right and left of the wheel arch cover (2).

Installation note:

Make sure wheel arch cover (2) is in correct position.

Unclip wheel arch cover (1) at front on left and right.

Only X5 M:

Release screws (1).

NOTE: Carry out work on the right side in the same way as for the left side illustrated here.

IMPORTANT: Bumper panel (1) is locked in mounting on sides and must be disengaged for disassembly (risk of damage).

Removing:

Beginning on the outside, carefully disengage individual guide tabs (2) on left and right.
With the aid of another person, pull bumper panel (1) towards the front slightly, if necessary, unlock and disconnect plug connection for Park Distance Control (PDC), plug connection for SIDE VIEW camera on left/right and plug connection for fog light on left/right).

Remove bumper panel (1) towards the front with the aid of a 2nd person.
