51 47 161 Removing and installing/replacing right luggage compartment wheel arch panel

Necessary preliminary tasks:

E70 only:

With E70 (Security, Security-Plus) only:

In E71/72 only:

Press latch mechanisms (1) together from inside and feed out cover (2).

Disconnect plug connection on charging socket (1).

Release clamps (2).

Feed out luggage compartment wheel arch panel (3) in inwards direction.

E70 Security Plus (SA109) only:

Disconnect plug connection on charging socket (1).

Release clamps (2).

Feed out luggage compartment wheel arch panel (3) in inwards direction.

Replacement:

Remove charging socket (1).

Version with storage compartment package:

Remove multifunction hook (2).

Remove tensioning strap (3).

NOTE: Apertures for multifunction hook (2) and tensioning strap (3) must be cut out from luggage compartment wheel arch panel.

Saw out openings with an oscillating saw and a straight blade on the molding.

E70 Security Plus (SA109) only:

Wheel arch panel must also be adapted.

Make cut-outs with a jigsaw and a straight blade as follows:

44 mm
