51 11 185 Removing and installing/replacing side ornamental grille in bumper panel (M Aerodynamic package)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Version up to 04/2014:

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Release latch mechanism (2) along line.

Remove ornamental grille (3).

Installation note:

Latch mechanisms (2) must not be damaged or missing.

Replacement:

Version after 04/2014:

Unlock plug connections (1) and disconnect.

Release latch mechanism (2) along line.

Remove ornamental grille (3).

Installation note:

Latch mechanisms (2) must not be damaged or missing.

Replacement:

Replacement:

NOTE: New PDC holder (1) must be bonded into new ornamental grille (2).
Use ADHESIVE SET K6 .

Clean retaining tabs of PDC holder (1) and ornamental grille (2).

Apply adhesive to adhesive area of retaining tabs on PDC holder (1).

Mount PDC holder (1) on ornamental grille (2).

Secure retaining tabs by clamps (3).

Swap over ultrasound sensor.
