51 16 166 Replacing center console

Special tools required:

When working on trim panel components, make sure that visible surfaces are not scratched or damaged (e.g. by sharp-edged tools).

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Unclip drinks holder (1) at retaining clips (2) and retaining hooks (3).

Unlock plug connection (1) and remove drinks holder.

Release lower screws (1) from top rear of storage compartment (2).

Fold up center armrest if necessary (1).

Release upper screw (2) from upper rear shelf.

Using special tool 00 9 325 lever out storage compartment at top rear (1) and pull back to detach.

Release screws (1) on support (2).

Swivel the support (2) to the lower inside until the support (2) and center armrest (3) can be fed out toward the back from the center console.

Installation note:

Feed support (4) correctly into center console.

Check folding function of center armrest (3) after bolting down the support (4).

For version with comfort access only:

Undo screw (2) of interior aerial (1).

Remove interior aerial (1).
