51 11 156 Removing and installing front bumper panel

Remove gasket (1) and release screws (2) beneath it.

Version with holder: 

Release screw (1) on left/right.

Tightening torque 51 11 12AZ .

Version with cable strap: 

Release left/right cable straps (1).

Release rivets (1) on wheel arch cover.

Installation note: 

Renew rivet (1).

Release wheel arch cover (3) in area of bumper panel out of latch mechanisms on right/left.

Partially release wheel arch cover and fold it aside.

Unlock connector of left and right headlights and disconnect.

Release screws (1) on bumper panel (2) on the left/right.

Release screws (1).

Pull bumper panel slightly towards the front with aid of a 2nd person.

Unlock plug-in contacts (1) on left/right and disconnect.

Remove bumper panel.

Installation note: 

Version with holder: 

Attach bumper panel with holder (4) and screw (3) on the left/right.

Tightening torque 51 11 12AZ .

Ensure a parallel gap dimension (2) to the front headlight (1).

Installation note: 

Version with cable strap: 

Attach bumper panel with cable strap (3) on left/right.

Ensure a parallel gap dimension (2) to the front headlight (1).
