51 16 202 Removing and installing/replacing front cupholder

Special tools required:

When working on trim panel components, make sure that visible surfaces are not scratched or damaged (e.g. by sharp-edged tools).

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Version with automatic transmission:

Release screws (2) at rear on carrier housing for center armrest (1).

Tightening torque 51 16 4AZ .

Insert special tool 00 9 341 as illustrated.

Lever trim (1) slightly downwards and unclip.

If necessary, unclip LED (1) and remove trim (2).

Installation note:

Catches and clamps must not be damaged or missing.

Remove inlay mat (1) of cupholder.

Release screws (1) on support for center console.

Tightening torque 51 16 4AZ .

Unfasten plug connection (2) and disconnect.

Pull complete center console slightly towards rear.

Remove front insert mat from cupholder (1).

Release screw (3).

Release cupholder (1) at retaining clips (2) and remove.

Replacement
