64 11 378 Removing and installing or replacing heating and air conditioning system control panel (version with CIC)

Special tools required: 

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage!

A hard disk is installed in the Car Information Computer (CIC).

Carry out mechanical work on the CIC and adjacent components with care.

Avoid subjecting the CIC to vibration/shocks.

IMPORTANT: Read and comply with notes on PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DAMAGE (ESD PROTECTION) .

Car Infotainment Computer (CIC)

Fit special tool 00 9 340 on either side as illustrated.

Unclip and remove operator unit trim (1).

Installation note: 

All marked retaining lugs on trim of A/C operator unit (1) must not be damaged.

Press IHKA controls (1) to the right.

Unlock latch mechanism with special tool 00 9 327 .

Pull out A/C operator unit (1) toward to the front.

Unlock and detach plug connections (1 and 2).

Remove A/C operator unit (3).

Replacement: 

Carry out VEHICLE PROGRAMMING/CODING .
