51 12 160 Remove and install/replacing the rear bumper panel

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Release screws (2) on left/right.

In the highlighted area (4) release bumper panel (3) from latch mechanism (1) and remove from upper part (5).

Installation note:

Replace defective sheet metal nuts.

Retaining tabs and securing eyes of trim panels must not be damaged.

Check proper fit of upper and lower section.

Replacement

Remove protective caps (1) for towing eyes left/right.

Installation note:

Ensure to install catch tabs of protective cap correctly.

Modify all ultrasonic sensors (1).

Modify sheet metal nuts (1) of bottom bumper trim (2) left/right.
