Monitoring criteria

The fault is recognized when an open wire is present.

Potential problem source(s):

-Open circuit in wire between the DME and the exhaust-side VANOS solenoid valve.

-Defect in power supply to VANOS exhaust-side solenoid valve

-Exhaust-side VANOS solenoid valve defective
