41 34 041 Replacing Tail Panel Stripping Operations

NOTE: Owing to the different engine variants and equipment specifications, not all the components are taken into consideration.
The following list basically represents the removal sequence.

Disconnect battery
Remove bumper trim
Remove bumper carrier
Remove center guide
Remove guide for bumper on left and right
Remove luggage compartment floor trim panel
Remove luggage compartment storage compartment
Remove tail panel trim at top
Remove left luggage compartment wheel arch panel
Remove right luggage compartment wheel arch panel
Remove striker for rear lid
Remove rear lights
Partially detach tailgate seal

NOTE: Operation is described on the left side. Right side identical.

Lift out clip (1) and remove water channel cover (2).

Lever out expanding rivets (1) and fold sound insulation (2) to one side.

Release nuts and remove ground support point (3).

Tightening torque: see 2AZ in 41 34 REAR TRIM PANEL .

Release cable channel covers (1) and lay towards front.

Release wiring harnesses (1) from rear trim panel and lay towards front.

Release nuts (1) and remove cover (2).
