11 14 010 Replacing sealing cover for vacuum pump (N54)

Special tools required:

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Unclip cover (3) with a suitable tool.

Release screw underneath (1- not shown).

Tightening torque 11 28 7AZ .

Remove idler pulley (2).

NOTE: Engagement surface (2) of special tool 11 8 534 must in the next work step engage in opening (1) of special tool 11 8 537 .

NOTE: Refrigerant lines (1) do not have to be removed in order to remove the vacuum pump sealing cover.

Screw special tool 11 8 535 with special tools 11 8 531 and 11 8 537 into existing threads and secure.

Screw special tool 11 8 534 into special tool 11 8 531 .

Align opening of special tool 11 8 537 to special tool 11 8 534 .

Screw in special tool 11 8 534 until it gently engages in opening on special tool 11 8 537 .

Position special tool 11 8 537 by hand on sealing cover.

Screw in special tool 11 8 534 with a suitable tool.

NOTE: In this work step the sealing cover is pressed roughly at position (1) out of crankcase upper section.

Remove all special tools, securing special tool 11 8 537 against falling off in the process.

Remove sealing cover with a suitable tool.

Special tool assembly:

Screw special tool 11 8 533 with special tool 11 8 532 into special tool 11 8 531 .

Insert special tool 11 8 535 into specified guides of special tool 11 8 531 .

Installation:

Replace sealing cover.

Screw special tool 11 8 535 with special tool assembly into existing threads and secure.

Screw new sealing cover (1) into crankcase upper section until flush using special tools 11 8 532 and 11 8 533 .

Remove all special tools.

Assemble engine.
