13 53 310 Removing and installing/replacing an injector (N55)

Observe WARNINGS ON REMOVAL OF THE INJECTORS without fail!

IMPORTANT: There are two different injector versions and hold-down device versions for the N55 engine.
A mixed installation of the components (hold-down device, spark plug shafts, injectors, cylinder heads and screws) between the two hold-down device versions is not possible/permitted!
Removal and installation of the various injectors are described separately according to the hold-down device version.

The hold-down device version must be identified beforehand in order to select the correct repair instructions.

Remove ACOUSTIC COVER

The bottom hold-down device version can be found on the electromagnetic compatibility panel (1) installed above the injectors.

The top hold-down device version can be found on the hold-down device installed on top (1).
