41 35 101 Stripping Operations - Replacing Rear Side Panel, Left

NOTE: Owing to the different engine variants and equipment specifications, not all the components are taken into consideration.
The following list basically represents the removal sequence.
  • Disconnect negative battery cable (job number: 61 20 900)
  • Remove left rear door (job number: 41 41 000)
  • Remove bumper trim panel (job number: 51 12 156)
  • Remove bumper support (job number: 51 12 050)
  • Remove centre bumper guide (job number: 51 12 825)
  • Remove left bumper guide (job number: 51 12 828)
  • Remove trim strip on rear left side window (job number: 51 36 056)
  • Remove cover on C-pillar (job number: 51 36 030)
  • Remove rear left side window (job number: 51 36 071)
  • Remove trim strip on left roof frame (job number: 51 13 780)
  • Remove rear left lock striker (job number: 51 21 003)
  • Remove left door sill cover strip (job number: 51 47 030)
  • Remove lower D-pillar trim panel (job number: 51 47 120)
  • Remove rear left rocker panel trim (job number: 51 47 072)
  • Remove trim panel for cover on left side member (job number: 51 71 447)
  • Remove left door edge protection (job number: 51 72 000)
  • Remove rear left wheel arch cover (job number: 51 71 041)
  • Partially detach tailgate seal
  • Remove tail panel cover (job number: 51 46 050)
  • Remove left luggage compartment floor trim panel (job number: 51 47 101)
  • Remove left luggage compartment wheel arch panel (job number: 51 47 151)
  • Remove left rear light (job number: 63 21 180)
  • Remove rear water channel cover on left
  • Remove gas pressure spring (job number: 51 24 300)
  • If necessary, remove electrical spindle drive (job number: 51 24 400)

Release nut/expanding rivets and remove both supports (1) for floor panels.

Release screws and lay TV module (1) to one side.

Release tank vent valve (2) and lay to one side.

Partially unclip wiring harness (3).

Remove insulating mat (4).

Unlock connectors for control units (1) and disconnect.

Release nuts for control unit holder and remove holder with control units.

Partially unclip wiring harness (2).

Unclip cover (3) and remove.

Unclip ventilation grille (4) and remove.
