64 11 262 Removing and installing/replacing auxiliary water pump (S63)
Special tools required:
Only perform this work after engine has cooled down.
Recycling
Coolant emerges when coolant lines are detached. Have a suitable collecting vessel ready.
Catch and dispose of emerging coolant.
Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
Ribs on radiator may not be damaged.
Unlock plug connections (1) and disconnect.
Unlock and disconnect coolant hose (3) from auxiliary water pump for charge air cooler (2).
Open the hose clamp (5) on the coolant hose (4).
Detach coolant hose (4).
Release screw (2).
Open the clamp (1) and feed the auxiliary water pump for the charge air cooler (3) out toward the top.
Installation note:
Make sure auxiliary water pump for the charge air cooler (3) is seated correctly in the auxiliary water pump holder.
For better removal, place the holder (1) with the auxiliary water pump (4) upward.
Unlock spring clamps (3) with special tool 17 2 050 .
Pull off coolant hoses (2) from auxiliary water pump (4).
Release screws (5).
Remove the auxiliary water pump (4) from the bracket (1).
Installation note:
Make sure auxiliary water pump (4) is seated correctly in bracket (1).
After installation:
- FILL COOLING SYSTEMIMPORTANT: Filling and bleeding must not be performed in ECO-PRO MODE!
- CHECK COOLING SYSTEM FOR LEAKS
