51 36 047 Replacing Cover At Rear Left Or Right Side Window

Special tools required:

00 9 317

IMPORTANT: The INSTRUCTIONS on component bonding with double-sided adhesive tape serve as the basis for this repair instruction and must be observed without fail.

Remove trim

Undo door seal (1) in the area of the side window (2).

Heat cover (3) using a hot air blower and remove from side window (2) using special tool 00 9 317 .

Install cover

Pre-treat adhesive area of cleaned side window with Sika-Aktivator 205 applicator.

IMPORTANT: Only treat adhesive area of side window with Sika-Aktivator 205 applicator.
If Sika Activator 205 is applied to the visible area of the side window, a shiny film forms which suggests a dissolution of the ceramic layer.

Attach door seal and close door and door window.

Pull liner* off cover (1).

Fit cover (1) at PVC coating (3) of side window (2) below and align.

Align cover (1) i.a.w. dimension (A) parallel to the door window (4) and adhere.

6.5 ± 1 mm

Apply thumb pressure force over entire bonding surface of cover (1).
