51 71... Removing and installing/replacing left or right steering box cover

Necessary preliminary tasks

If applicable, remove right or left FRONT WHEEL .

NOTE: Description is shown on the E82 by way of example. There may be differences in detail in the case of other models.
Prior to removing, pay attention to the exact installation position with respect to the adjoining components.
The operation is described on the left side; proceed in the same way for the right side.

NOTE: Spring strut removed for purposes of clarity.

Unscrew screws (1) and plastic nuts (2).

Tightening torque 51 75 1AZ .

Feed out cover (3) and remove.

Installation note:

Observe NOTES FOR INSTALLATION of the cover (3).
